Our small group cycle tours start at the Rotorua iSite Visitor Information Centre at 10 am or 1:30 pm. Your Guide is an authentic Māori who lives in Rotorua. The tour travels through and past iconic Rotorua sights such as Princes Gate, Government Gardens, Sulphur Point, Kuirau Park and the City's recently refurbished 'Te Manawa'. This is a gentle bicycle ride on a predominantly flat terrain. Take time to capture the perfect photo and hear about Rotorua's famous Māori stories that have shaped the local community. An approximately 15 - 30 minute visit to a well loved local cafe is included for complimentary coffee. Choose between Waiotapu or Oarakei Korako geothermal areas for your first stop on this 6-hour day trip. Then see Huka Falls, Lake Taupo and the surrounding areas. Admission fees to the thermal area of your choice are included, but lunch is at your own expense. This guided small-group tour operates with a maximum of 11 passengers and includes pickup from your centrally located accommodation in Rotorua.

Begin the day with free hotel pickup from your centrally located accommodation in Rotorua between 8am and 9:15am (a small fee applies for people staying out of town). Your exact departure time will be confirmed the night before your tour. Departure is guaranteed even for one person, but the tour is operated in a small-group of up to 11 people in a small modern vehicle.

Depending on the option selected at the time of booking, your tour will start with a visit to either Waiotapu or Oarakei Korako.

Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland: Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland is a spectacular showcase of New Zealand's most colorful and unique geothermal elements sculpted by thousands of years of volcanic activity and home to a large mud pool. You will have time to explore the thermal park. Also stop at the Lady Knox geyser to see the eruption which occurs at 10:15am daily.

Orakei Korako (The Hidden Valley): Visit a highly active geothermal area located in a valley north of Taupo on the banks of the Waikato River in the Taupo Volcanic Zone. This magnificent thermal area is most notable for its series of fault-stepped sinter terraces. This option includes includes a short boat ride to the Valley and about an hours walk along the steps cut into the terrain (requires a moderate level of fitness).

After visiting the thermal reserve of your choice, continue on our journey to Lake Taupo. Lunch will be at your own expense. Your guide will entertain and inform you with stories of the history of the area and the landscape. Enroute to Lake Taupo, stop at Huka Falls, Wairakei Thermal area and a number of other interesting sights. Your 6-hour day trip starts in Rotorua and finishes back in Rotorua or in Taupo. Your guide may tailor the route to suit the interests of the group.

The Waitomo Glowworm Caves are highly placed in the New Zealand vacation wish list. Thousands of tiny glowworms radiate their unmistakable luminescent light from the roof of the Waitomo Caves. You will travel through Rural New Zealand from Rotorua to the Waitomo Caves (approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes) in a mini bus with a maximum group size of 15. Upon arrival, you will join a guided tour of the caves, conducted by a local guide – the highlight of which is the boat ride along the Waitomo River where you have the opportunity to see the myriad of glow worm lights that make up the Glowworm Grotto. Travel in the afternoon from Rotorua.  The tour departs at 1:45pm.  After your tour, you will travel back to Auckland and be taken to your hotel in central city area by 8 pm in the evening.

Pickups at centrally-located hotels in Rotorua begin at 1:25pm for a 1:45pm departure; board a minibus with your luggage, and begin the trip to Auckland with a small group of fellow travelers. It's worth bringing a packed lunch or snacks for the ride, as there's not a meal break between Rotorua and Auckland. 

Part-way through the trip, pause at the Waitomo Glowworm Caves for a guided boat tour, floating beneath constellations of blinking glowworms. 

Following your time at the Waitomo Glowworm Caves, meet back up with the driver for the remainder of the trip to Auckland, arriving at your centrally-located hotel by 8pm. While only central hotels are included in the price of this tour, transport to other accommodations can be arranged on your behalf for a nominal fee.
